blur daiseys

Still in the daisies so my normal for the day is good. Keep me in prunes and codeine and I function. Maybe tomorrow will be roses. Tomorrow is the cancer class. That means I will need to get up and get going.
I liked the picture that you put on, That was a fun time. All the times have been fun. And we shall have more. We have 8 more days! Not very long. Tomorrow sounds busy for you. Get some rest!

Deer in Yosemite Park

All deer in parks are tame. I still took a picture of him. I was going to be in bed by now and I decided to change my bandage. Under your arm pit on your ribs and you really can't see much and they gave me lots of tape. If I could have found a picture of a mummy, I would have posted that picture. I looked at it and said maybe I need a little more tape.....maybe a little more. Remember how I wrap packages?? Maybe not quite that bad, not quite a mummy! I know you get the picture even with out a picture. I will have to do a better job before flying or I might not get through the airport.
My normal for today is lazy or it was until I got involved with the tape.

Old church in Yosemite

This was a very old church in Yosemite. Beautiful in the setting of the mountains. A good day today. I got a new phrase tody from a friend of mine going on 5 years of Chemo with a few months off occasionally. He uses "my new normal of the day". So my new normal for today is a good day today.
How was Traci and Lori Jo's birthday gathering? How was your drink? I emailed Richard and Harold. I heard from Richard already. They are staying at The Falls. I have to look that up to see how close it is to us.
I am happy to say this is also a red letter day. All gardens are cleaned up.Thanks to a few little elves who took pity on one who does not like cleaning up after herself. So our garden is now clean and blessed.
Have a good week!

A garden that didn't get cleaned up. Tomorrow is the deadline. A 46 year old woman who will do anything to get out of doing what she is supposed to. You would think she is 10? I hate the way she makes me feel! She does this every season! I have learned, she doesn't understand anything unless you treat her like she treats you. I hate being like her. Sorry about my negative beginning here and I won't even go into it all.
But today was a good day. Manuel, Robin and Andrea took care of all my garden clean up. I am so lucky to have good family, good friends and only a few that test everything I say. So it is a blessing! A couple came from church and brought my favorite dessert-snickerdoodles! They are so good. We had fresh green beans, tomatoes, rice and Moringstar grillers. Very good dinner. Did you get every thing done that you had planned?
I don't know if we can hold Phil down when we see him. He is very active!!
See You soon.

Bronze sunflowers

My small bronze sunflowers didn't die while I was away. What a pleasant surprise. They are small but very pretty. It helped make my day good. My day was almost normal. Tomorrow is taking down the garden. I will be watching. My friend brought over macaroni and cheese/chicken dinner, It was very good. Robin came over for a short time tonight. She helped change my dressing. Their is very little drainage occuring.

Are any of your friends in New Jersey being hurt by the weather? Good thing you are in Utah!! Have a good day tomorrow.

2 more weeks 2 see you 2.

Today was an average day or maybe this was the day that I went out to the hammock. When it gets this late in the day, everything runs together. At least I talked to you and told you what my real day was like.Hope you had fun at your Women's night Out with Traci and Morgan. Have a good day tomorrow. I am going to bed.

Near Lower Yosemitie falls

I am back! I am glad that I went but it was tougher than I thought it would be. There was a controlled fire so there was smoke, higher elevation and I don't have the air that I used to have. That part was disappointing. I did one little hike and then took a open air tram through most of the scenic spots. I was happy they had that. We stayed in a nice cabin fairly close and did our cooking there. Nothing fancy but my friends eat about like I do.
Tomorrow morning is my big day for the CT scan. I have to drink the stuff 1 hour before. It will probably be a week before I hear anything.
I also had a meeting tonight so I am tired. Talk to you tomorrow.

Church variety show

I was tired when I got home last night so I didn't blog. We had a benefit talent show and dinner that was very good. There were about 50 people there and I took individual pictures in front of the map in the background and then when people performed. One couple put the map on plywood, colored it, drilled holes in each state and had little lights through each hole. Very impressive! When I got home, I had to download all of my picture to my computer so I would have enough space to take pictures at Yosemite. Now this morning, I have to get moving so I can have everything ready by noon.
Your trip to the temple sounded good and tiring also. After being there several times, everything you mentioned was familiar. Does Dioni ever get tired?
I got to get going and get things done. I will be home sometime Wednesday night.

Mossy tree in Savannah, GA

I enjoyed my week in Savannah several years ago. I went with Elder Hostel by myself. Bud got sick at the last minute and didn't go. In my free time, I walked all over the old part old Savannah and down to the river. It was so pretty.
I got measured for my new sleeve today. I hope to get it before flying to Branson, did a little shopping for food for my trip. I am beginning to be like you. I can't eat just anything. I want to feel good while there and to eat the wrong thing can do me in. I am leaving on Sunday afternoon and coming back for a meeting on Wednesday night. I get my CT scan the morning after I get back.
I am happy to report that today was a normal day. The excitement in a day now is to be normal. I know you don't know what normal days are! Have a good one tomorrow!

Little town in Nevada

Doesn't this make you think of Cardwell? Small town but people lived there. They did have a park and we ate lunch there.
I went to Art group and then to board meeting at church. Several new people at Art and everyone had something to show. I got enough apples from the lady who made the apple pie to do something with it.
Lori Jo, I voted for Allysa. Does it still not show? I love her picture.
Joyce, I am glad you are taking a day off to go to Temple Square with Dioni. That will be nice for both of you. I am going to be taking pictures for our church's variety show that night. Hope your day was good.

Today's harvest

I had a meeting to go to at church tonight. This is what I got from my church garden. Manuel got 3x the tomatoes but he also has 3 times the plants. Now.. what am I going to do with the tomatoes? Last year I dehydrated them, I think maybe I will just freeze most of them this time. I am going to art group tomorrow. One of the ladies said she was bringing Granny Smith apples in. I had a tree full of them and the squirrels have taken most of them. Maybe I will get enough from her to do something with. That should fill my next few days. Nice to have a clean house so I can think about these things.
Have a good night.

Early morning

A few years ago on one of my camping trips. I love the quiet of the early morning, Plus I am usually rested. It is a brand new day and the (my) world is at peace. I didn't get much rest last night. It was one of the nights that sleep wouldn't come and I didn't feel like getting up and doing something. Therapy was at 9:00. She thought I was doing pretty good but she put in a order for a new sleeve since I had lost 15 pounds. The sleeve wouldn't stay as high on my arm as it should. I was to meet Marisa at 11:30 and I got out of therapy at 10:30. Borders is across the street so I went over to see what they had. Marisa and I had lunch at Texas West, a barbeque place. She has chosen that place 3 years in a row. I had spare ribs without sauce on it. They were good but I had to go to the bathroom 3 times before getting Marisa home. I have had very little pork since you were here. I guess it has too much fat on it. I am going to get more imodium before leaving for Yosemite on Sunday.
I am tired today and I think I will go to bed early. Hope you are getting your rest. Tomorrow is housecleaning day. They don't come until 12:30 so that should give me time to put things away.
Congratulations to Rod. Maybe this is a beginning of sales.

Sunset and wind turbines

I love seeing the wind turbines on the hill side. They are huge when you get close to them. This was while we were going on from Monterey on the freeway.
Do you have another busy day tomorrow? I go to the therapist tomorrow. My arm has gone down a lot but hurts some. Plus my shoulder has been bothering me and if it isn't related to lymphedema, then I will go to a doctor. I am taking Marisa out for her birthday lunch and then shopping for her birthday gift.
Today, I did my first canning (semi-canning). I have so many banana peppers and some chili peppers. I saw this recipe where you pour a hot spice viniger mixture over them and put the lids on and they seal. I only did 4, didn't expect it to work but all 4 sealed. Of course I cleaned the jars and washed and cut up the peppers in little rings. I didn't put enough peppers in, next time, I will cram them in. Then I made a peach jello pudding out of the "No flour No sugar" cook book.
I put lots of fruit in it. It wasn't all that tasty. Kinda good for you if you don't mind the chemicals.
(No sugar jello and no sugar pudding)
After that Kris called and wanted us to spend thanksgiving in Las Vegas. So I was on the computer with Southwest and got a flight for November 22 and 26.
Your picture of 4 months shows such a change! I know it wasn't easy to start with but I think nothing will change you back to the old you now.
One month from today we will be in Branson. Hard to believe time is going by so fast!

3 youngest grandchildren

Marisa, Marcus and Andrea. A fun evening! We went to the little Mexican place near us. Everyone enjoyed their food. We came back and they had bought a pie and ice cream so that they could include Bud on dessert. I was too full. It was interesting on watching take care of the bill and tip. It is much easier going out with one at a time. Marcus is still as much a cut up as ever. At least he is working and making some money. He is moving into a duplex. Marisa starts to college on her birthday. She has her schedule. Andrea gets her schedule in high school on Friday.
I am tired tonight, nothing planned tomorrow, so I may sleep in until 7:30 then work on my peppers.
Until tomorrow...

University Falls

University Falls was on one of our hiking trips long ago. I didn't change the color of the rocks. I don't know why it is green.
A nice picture of Alyssa. I voted for her. It will be a picture that she will cherish all her life. Sounds like you had a very busy day today. Did you go to IHOP for breakfast? Tomorrow is my day to go out with Marcus, Marisa and Andrea. They wanted to take me out since I always take them out for their birthdays. We are going out for dinner since Marisa works all week end.
Today was another good (lazy) day. Except I will never again eat my favorite ice cream....Hagan Dass with almonds. It upset my stomach and gave me diarrhea plus more coughing. It has way too much fat in it anyway. I have to get my food figured out before Yosemite and Branson. Yosemite is a week away. I think I would feel better if I didn't eat but then I wouldn't have any energy. Bud has started reading some of my nutrition books.
The computer says it is going to shut down in 6 minutes. That's my clue to get off and go to bed.
I hope you have a restful night and a good tomorrow.

Lost is Found

The lost is found! No, they were not found there. I bought 2 new pair of prescription sunglasses not long ago. One is continually dark and the other changes with the light so I can use them at night also. I always keep them in the car (most of the time ) If I don't I lose them. So far so good until I got ready to go on vacation. I searched the car throughly, I searched my purse upteen times. I looked all over the house. I thought, Oh no, I have done it again! Lost my prescription glasses!! Today, I was getting something out of the floor of the car...I felt something where the seatbelt attaches to the floor, next to the seat. IT WAS MY GLASSES! My blessing for the day. I don't really need anymore. It was a good day tho. I changed the beds, washed sheets and hung them out on the line. I can hardly wait to go to bed!! That was a chore in itself. Then to the tomatoes, I got that sauce made but I don't think I will use that recipe again. I made Kindra's portabella mushroom recipe that she made for me while we were there. That also was a lot of work. I am used to simple things in cooking. Still I had a good day. I read this from your friend Tina's face book. I put this in my book that Lori Jo gave me,

"There are moments in your life that make you set the course of who you're going to be.
Sometimes they are little subtle moments.
Sometimes they are big moments you never saw coming.
No one asks for their life to change, but it does. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are."

Solaeized Laiko

This was taken when Bud and I did a lot of hiking with the tennis club. This is our hiking leader's wife and I solarized the picture and got some different colors.
How was the book signing? What a busy day you have. I think that I am done with busy days. I did go down and exercise tho. I felt so much better. I think I am getting back to my pre vacation days. My arm swelling has gone down quite a bit. I go see that therapist next week. I guess working on tomatoes will be tomorrow. I still have things to put away from vacation.
I know your tomorr will be busy also.I just remembered that I left my phone in the car.

Tomatos

How is the new you today. Class is over and you are just beginning. Can't wait to see you! Was Rod disappointed when you didn't come home with purple hair???
Today was a slow day. I went to a meeting tonight and watched a movie afterwards. I was going to do something with those tomatos but rested instead. Maybe tomorrow... Last night I put new solar batteries in my old solar lights and they are all burning tonight. I wanted to do that before you came but I went to so many stores and they didn't sell them. I found them at Home Depot. I should have known.
I just finished having one of those ginger candies that all of you got me at the senior fair. I think I will go buy some.
Enjoy your new you tomorrow.

Burney Falls

I had been here before but it was much prettier than before. Because of our rainfall and extra snow melt, it is much prettier. I wish we had more time to stay there.
Today was Costco day and that tires me out. Always did! I don't have anything else today tho. I even picked up one of their rotteriso chickens and we have left over rice and beans so I don't have to do anything for dinner.
I am so anxious to see how your day went, how the new you look, everything about it. A perfect time for it with your big weight loss. I can't see them changing your hair color much but I see the brown's coming out of your clothes and into lighter colors. Am I right?? Maybe I will find out tomorrow??

Floor of SOU library

I know that I sent you floor designs before. So much more interesting than just a floor. After my long walk the first day in Ashland, I decided to make my walk on the campus the next day. That was big enough! The library was a beautiful building with lots of glass with a dome and then this floor.
It was good to talk to you on your break. This has been on the top of your list for a long time. I am glad the time has come. You have to do things when you can.
My day was o.k. I stayed home all day. My 91 year old friend thinks that I am finally learning to take care of myself. She is probably right!
Enjoy tomorrow.
