outdoor potty September 30, 2010

This was in our camp site when we got there. I guess someone didn't like the squat method. I used the squat method. Deer hunters come up to this area and deer hunting season started the next week. It was nice to get away but not one of my favorite getaways. I leave again tomorrow and even though it will be tent camping, it will be so much nicer. It will be civilized area, bath rooms and prettier. Plus it is a photography class. So much to do in the 2 days in between.
I enjoyed my luncheon at my friend's new house. It is new and large. She had 24 or 25 there and since I haven't been playing tennis, I got to see lots of my old tennis friends that I haven't seen in a few months. So nice to have something like this in between 2 dirty camping trips.
I got up this morning about 5:00. I went on the computer to find a quinoa recipe for the trip. I am in one of the vegetarian food groups, then a person who is allergic to gluten which makes it even harder to find a recipe except quinoa is gluten free and a complete protein, I wanted to add some other things. I have so much on my computer, plus lots of email for the days that I was gone. While going through all this, I found this quote that I had saved.

I really hated to hear about your lump that you found but hopefully, it is just a calcium deposit and no problems to it. Keep me posted. Yes, with all your doctor's appointment, it sounds like Norma. But it is best to get all that done. So that is good. I didn't hear from Norma last night. I hope she didn't have to stay the night. I talked to my friend who had this done and she did o.k.
Your angel thing for my birthday was so nice. You know how to make a person feel so good, having a birthday was a highlight in my day.
That was a interesting article on carbs and calcium. We have been going over the best foods for the most calcium. I enjoy that list.

Shirt bag September 23, 2010

A real quick note, mainly a picture of the shirts. I sent you a few today. I haven't yet used it for groceries yet but it is a good idea.
I am getting up tomorrow at 4:30 am. It is going to be a short night and a long day.

Spider Web September 2010

Spiderwebs can be so pretty, especially early in the morning. They look like mother's crocheting. I wonder if that is how they got their first crochet patterns. Most of them are very strong, especially if you try to take one down.
You are still losing weight. Congratulations! I am not losing but I am slowly getting down to where I was. You would think with fresh vegetables and fruit, you wouldn't have to worry about weight. But looking at all the good recipes, they all seem to have something fattening in them. I picked Granny Smith apples this morning. I plan to start peeling tonight and doing something with them. My garden lecture that I had set up with the Master Gardner turned out really good. She stayed forever, loves gardening and cooking. I got tired, just listening to all she did. The kids and her husband was also just as involved (like living on the little pararie)
I have someone coming over tonight to pick up her CDS of the pictures that I did. She also does snapfish, that made it so easy to put it on line and they could see the pictures instantly, order from there or use the CDs to do whatever and wherever they want. I am delivering the baby pictures of another customer in Auburn (the next town over) tomorrow then I won't have any jobs hanging over my head while I am camping. Except tomorrow afternoon, I am on the nominating commite for officers of Church. Such a small church and the majority is over 80 years old. It is going to be a job. There are 4 of us on the committe but I am the head of it.
Challenges make life interesting, so they say. Sometimes they are as complicated as a spider's web.

Michelle's parent's place September15,2010

This is just a part of the beautiful place where I did pictures. I almost have them finished where I can put them on a CD. Then i have to find the phone number of the customer in Auburn and get that delivered, then I can enjoy my camping trip. I am ready to go somewhere. I don't know where I get my wunderlust. I am looking forward to my trip in November. I am glad Normadecided to join us. I know this isn't the best time for you. You have already showed us around, so you don't have to do that this this time. We will help you with your Avon sales and I know you will be busy.

Relay Balloons September 13,2010

I did a relay that my friend was involved in. This was on Saturday night. I walked some before the survivor walk then some more before and afterward at the luminaire walk. Robin and one of my friends came at night.
Congratulation to both of you on your weight loss. That is so good! I can't seem to get on the program. I do drink the orange water and love it. So much better than orange juice or straight water. But I am still eating when I am not hungry.
I did pictures yesterday for one of Kris' friends. Her parents wanted some family pictures. I did them at 3:30 on Sunday. Her parents have a place like I would like . A pond with a island, a waterfall also they have a place where a rope from a tree to swing over the water. Beautiful!

Granny Smith Apples September 9, 2010

I have peeled so many apples today. We have a apple tree. My friend got a big grocery bag full, so did I and I still have that much more left . I put together 3 Apple Crisp(didn't cook yet) ! Apple fig pie ( we ate some tonight) . What you have given up in eating, I think I am eating! Oink, Oink!! O yes, I have been picking figs also. I made a spagatti sauce out of my peppers and tomatoes. And then had spagatti squash for dinner. Right now I am stuffed.
I am happy for Tammy's results, feel sorry for Norma's results. It isn't near as serious as Tammy's would have been. I know someone who went through the mole procedure. She didn't think it was that bad.
I am going to do another Relay for life on Saturday, I hope to deliver some pictures also on Saturday and do some family pictures of one of Kris' old friend's family on Sunday afternoon. This is my retirement, I am not supposed to be as busy as you are. Sounds like you are going to be my rich sister! I knew you would be busy from October to December but not this early. Good going!

Manuel, Robin and Doug September 6, 2010

Robin got your check. She was surprised but happy. That is Bud's brother with Robin and Manuel. He left this morning. Tomorrow I hope is back to normal. Robin and Manuel were over the night before the memorial and Bud's cousin and her husband came over for a few hours after the memorial. The live in the mountains about 4 hours from here. We had not seen them for a few years. With so many people to talk to, I didn't get to anything at the memorial which was a blessing because I have eaten so much the last 4 or 5 days. Since today was my collapse day and Bud took Doug to the airport, I pulled out your DVD. I don't know what I did but I got to watch the story teller. It was very interesting. I have been doing scraps but I had never thought about how to put it together.
Congratulations to both of you on your great losses (of weight) I am going to fix my orange juice water tonight so it will be cold in the morning. I won't say that I am going on a diet but I like the drink and not real crazy about eating early.
This blog is long enough to make up for the few days that I missed.

Grandma and Buddy September 3, 2010

A time before refrigeration! Not knowing what year that was, I wonder if it was before electricity. We know that it must have been in late August or September to have a watermelon. Also, do you think that Norma may have one of the ice cards. I wonder if anyone does.
Everyone went to bed early tonight. And it is still early for me. One of the gardeners that drives me crazy called me tonight. She was out at the garden after dark which for safety sake, she shouldn't be out there alone after dark. Our church is in the country. She told me that a car came through the driveway, drove on the grass to a shed at the back and a bunch of people came out of the car. It is a 5 acre parcel. I told her to call the sheriff. She gave them my name and number so I had to talk to the sheriff and he said no one was there. The car probably left right away but that girl gives me more headaches. She always has a crisis.
Looking for more pictures of Bud's sister from my photo albums, I found the album that I had done of our last and (only) Family reunion. I am going to put all my information in there and maybe be a little organized. Have a good, safe and happy weekend.

I have been cleaning , trying to do some deep cleaning in places. I have one more day. Doug comes in at 9:00 at night. The only flight out for the holiday and using his miles. He said he would drive back in the dark. So I will stay here and do the final touches. The next 2 days are going to be hot. It is late again and I need to get up in the morning and get things done plus go to Costco or Sam"s and figure out what to get for food for 3 days.
