Jack rabbit Feb. 25, 2011

While playing bridge today, this jackrabbit came up to my friend's place. She lives on the edge of a green belt and golf course. My cards weren't very good so I could watch him. We were in the house so he couldn't see us. Then a covey of quail came up and played behind him. I couldn't get that picture, I had to get back to the cards. I thought maybe the Lions and Lambs would come and they would all lay down together and peace would come to the world.
I love that picture of Terry and Braden! I hope it was entered somewhere or published.
Before and after bridge, I cleaned out my friend's ( the one whose house reminds me of Grandma Gibbs) refrigerator
With the refrigerator, I think she reminds me more of mother. She is 85+, lives alone and broke her arm in the same place that I broke mine. So I know she is so limited in what she can do. She had so many leftovers and many questionable ones. I brought her too much food so that is going to add to it. Next week, I know to bring less.
This has been a very busy day. It is supposed to be in the 20's tonight so I am going to turn my electric mattress pad up to high.

Saucer Magnolia Feb.24, 2011

I thought I would get some more spring pictures in but I think this is it. We are going back to winter. It is supposed to be in the 20's (low) tomorrow and the next day. The mountains are already getting lots of snow. The picture of Alabama brings back good memories and it was cold then too!
I took my test this afternoon. I didn't do great and I didn't do bad. Now I have to finish my report before tuesday. I got so busy with school, I didn't take time to write down my food. Kinda scary! I am going to bridge tomorrow afternoon. We decided to not do nibbles so that is good. She usually does a fairly low cal desert. I also have to make a meat loaf for a lady who fell and broke her shoulder and she lives alone. She is in her upper 80's and her house is like Grandma Gibbs. She also has a cat and dog so the house smells.Since she is sorta on my way, I will stop on the way to heat up her lunch , on the way back to heat up her dinner. I know how it is to have one arm.

Not much time but I will send you my sunny day picture from yesterday while doing Kindra's pictures. It was a super busy day yesterday but fun. Today was really going to be busy also. But the lady who is drawing up our landscape plans for the church had a death in the family and couldn't make it. That gave me a little more time to recuperate and try to catch up on school. We may have a test tomorrow. I don't think I will do good on that but we get extra credit if we turn in hand written study guide answers. That is what I have to finish tonight. I will need that extra credit. I don't know what ever possesed me to take a history class! Names, dates, all that stuff. I really would prefer to go to conferences but I don't have any to go to. And I was bored when I signed up for school.
Back to the books!!

How is Dioni doing?
Fun going through old pictures. I bet Dioni enjoyed looking at those. I found this one of Robbie with my wig on. Phil didn't recognize her.
It has been so windy and raining the last few days. The wind really got me one day. It bothers my sinuses. It has been hard to sleep laying down. It drains down my throat. I went to bed at 8:30 the other night and didn't go to school the next day. I hated to miss. Now I don't have so much drainage, just coughing and blowing my nose.
Our church takes part in the community of feeding the homeless. Tonight was our night. I decided to go. We usually have 60 to feed. Tonight we had 90. There are more homeless now and our weather has been pretty bad.

I know you are so happy to have Dioni's surgery behind you and it went so well. How many days until swimming??
It is raining tonight. The wind is really blowing. I was going to walk to school but the wind was so strong, it was hard to get to school. We need the rain and I am happy to see it. I want it to leave on Sat. with everyone coming over.
I am tired tonight and I think the wind made me tired so I am going to bed a little early.

Happy valentine's Day! I am glad to hear that Dioni's surgery went well! We went out to eat at a nice restaurant and so did everyone else. Food was good but it was very noisy. Of course Bud suffered with his hearing aid so he wasn't very happy. If I could count my food counts, they would be up but I chose wisely. I lost 0.8 pounds this week but I am happy enough.
Busy day today, busy day tomorrow, so to bed I go.

On my camping trip last fall to Mono Lake. This is the overlook before going down into the area.
We will have prayers out for Dioni in the morning, I have a early morning too, I have to leave the house at 7:00 in the morning for therapy, then it is weight watchers.
I picked up some store reading glasses today. My eyes have really been bothering me since I started this class. Lot of it is in fine print.

Christmas Feb. 12, 2011

Poinsettae of my neighbor. The one I always watch the dog. She had it out when I was over at Christmas with the dog. I hadn't seen one like this and it was beautiful.
Hope your lady showed up for Avon and you had fun at the dance tonight. You must have pictures!
Congratulations to McKay! Not an easy thing to do.
Paragould used to have little earthquakes. It made the news that time I was staying with daddy at the nursing home. Like you, I didn't feel a thing, I haven't felt one out here either.
What time does Dioni have her surgery? Lori Jo, I hear you have a blog!! Invite me!!!!!
I had some popcorn not too long ago and now I am awake. I wasn't really hungry but I had enough points left. Dumb! The dog and I walked for 30 minutes today. Maybe that will help some. I made salmon cakes tonight and had slaw with it. It was good but 9 points. I had vegetable soup for lunch for 1 point so it averages out.
I have to brush my teeth, get everything together that I need with me for church. Maybe I will get to sleep shortly after.

Sunflowers Feb 11, 2011

it is after midnight and I didn't have to stay up. Last night I went to bed at 10:30 and I was up between 1:00 and 2:00 for an hour. I would rather stay up late. I am tired now so should be able to sleep till morning. Your trip sounded great. I know your head is spinning with so many new things going on, Thanks for sending the pictures.
I was at a meeting when you called. I will try to talk to you tomorrow. It is time for bed now.

I am anxious to hear about your day. So exciting and out of the cold! I stayed home all day. That was good too. I mostly went over some notes from school. Tomorrow is school. I have therapy before and meeting a man at Church to help him with some pictures after class. It will be busy. I fixed a good balsamic chicken and mushroom dish tonight. It is made for 4 points. My chicken breast was bigger than they said. It was one of the online's recipes.
It is getting close to time for my pill. After this, I only have 2 more pills. then I can go to bed when I want to and get up when I want to. I am tired of this 12:00 at night and 6:00 in the mornings.

I know you are busy getting ready to go to LA. I hope it is not as windy there as it is here. It is really windy today. I didn't walk to class. I got my hair cut. It was pretty wild looking before. Not very short hair cut, She had been getting carried away with those scissors. I like your framed quit piece from mother, I think I got rid of one from Grandma when it started falling apart. I wish that I had kept one piece.

Bird eggs Feb. 7 2011

I found these bird eggs on the ground in our yard. The mother bird put them there in the nest she built. I noticed this bird going back and forth, I was weeding, got nosy and saw this nest pretty much hidden in the ferns. We have really had nice weather, the birds are singing, the frogs croaking and the mosquitoes are out in full force.
Surprise, I lost 2.8 pounds, I didn't feel that I had been doing good. I started with a little more than usual excess. So that mean I have to watch a little more closely this week. I also went to the lymphedema therapist this morning and some of the swelling had gone down. I hope it stays down. I go to the orthopedic therapist on Thursday and you will be leaving on Wednesday for sunny California. I also went to the dentist today for cleaning, The whole office is going to Salt Lake City this weekend for some dental conference or class. I told my hygenist to dress warmly.
After that, I picked up my 91 year old friend so we could visit someone from church that is in the hospital. It was a busy day!

Not a great picture but this is what we did after church before the game. There is a fairly new junior college near us. They just finished building a concert area for the area with 3 stages which have the top of the acoustics for music. Today was open house so we went to see it now. There is another about 30 miles from us which I have also taken their tour but I wouldn't drive there for evening concerts. This one is only 5 miles away.
It was 74 degrees today. I know you are anxious to see some warm weather.
I don't know what happened to me today. I fell apart and ate everything. Tomorrow is a weigh in day I guess I need one of those passes that she talked about in the meeting. It all started with the veggie delight from subway. I gave it 8 points. I am not sure what it was. That took more points than I usually have for lunch. Next week is valentine's dinner at a really nice place. But it is right after weigh in so I have time to work that off. It would help if I could get Bud on the plan. I have all kinds of excuses! You have so much more will power.
Tomorrow is another day, a new start!

Marisa in frame several years ago. They enjoyed helping me with my school homework. If I need to try different things with school for photography, they would do it regardless of how dumb it seemed. Now they are so busy with everything and I am not doing pictures at school now..
You really did good with weight watchers. I think it is so much better diet than the one you had with the insurance but to get the insurance at a better deal was worth it.
It is good that Rod joined too, it makes it easier to keep the bad food out of the house.
Have fun at Traci's tomorrow. We are going to an open house at the college tomorrow. It will be after church and before the game. I hope to get some studying in while Bud watches the game.

Strange picture in Utah Feb. 4, 2011

Picture frames are fun to work with. The first time that I used those was in black and white, I colored in the frame and left the rest in black and white. At our studio in school, there was always a frame in the props. I would usually do one session a semester with the frame. I like the one you had, 2 girls dressed almost alike, makes it almost mirror image. I will have to try that some day. I don't know when I will be able to set up my studio at home again. There are some heavy things to set up.
The picture I am sending is the strangest picture that I have ever taken. Rod had to tell me what it was, then I could see it.
I don't how you could ever think you are not organized. Even real organized people can't get half what you get done. Good luck on your weigh in and on your new calling.

ATT Baseball Park Feb.3, 2011

San Francisco Giants Ball Park at ATT park. My friend and I did a tour there. It was so interesting and right on the water. If you are ever in San Francisco and they are still giving tours, you should do it.
The picture you posted should warm you up a lot. I am so glad you got to go on that trip. It won't be long until you will be in California. Hopefully it will be a nice day. At least there won't be any snow.
How is your arm and hand after doing so many die cuts. 600 is a lot! Norma told me she is looking into the Tan vacation in Wisconsin.
My day was good. Beautiful weather but now I am cold. I walked to class and then drove to Sam's.
My eating is not as good as yours. I stay right at my 29 points and sometimes could eat more. We had salmon tonight which was good. I know my count is off . I couldn't pass up Sam's food to try. Since super bowl sunday is coming up they had lots of nibbles to try. That was my lunch. The rest of the week should be better. I have to plan better on the days that I have class and then errands.

Quite a few years ago we hiked in this area. I am now doing good to get 2 miles in. I have to remember Patience, Hope and Time. I am doing better and the antibiotics is making my lipedema arm feel better.
I didn't do much today, a little studying, watched a movie and a church friend came over. We are getting things together for a photo book.
I have finished my exercises and now to take my midnight medicine.

Round Barn Feb.1, 2011

I always wanted to go to Indiana after a friend told me about the round barns there. Many of them were being torn down or falling down. I never made it there. One time Judy and I were in Santa Rosa (that is where the character Charlie Brown was made). There were other things to see in town and I saw this round barn. I couldn't believe it. I don't remember why they were made round. Now I don't have to go to Indiana.
I ended up with 28 points in weight Watchers. Only because I didn't realize I had the right kind of popcorn in the house. I wasn't really hungry but staying up until midnight says I have to do something. After eating the popcorn, I decided to mop the kitchen floor. A lady from church is coming over noon tomorrow. We are going to go over some pictures to put in a album for the church's 25th anniversary. She has a house keeper, so her house is always neat . She is always involved in service, meetings and a community chorus. So a housekeeper allows her to get involved in everything. She's been here before and my house is not clean but it is cleaner.
Time is going, I have 30 more minutes before I take my medicine. And I have one more set of exercises. Everything is working out just right.
