Last year we went to Tehacaphi, down near Lancaster, Ca. We used to take the back route to see Bud's parents in Riverside and see his aunt in Lancaster. Tehacaphi is a small town in the mountains, top of the grade. It has nothing there but a women's prison, wind turbines and a loop that a train has to make to get up the hill. You can see the end of the train and the beginning at the same time just at a different elevation. It was always to me fascinating to me, and it was near a poppy area.
So last year we spent a few days there. The poppies had finished blooming early. I got to see the train and the wind turbines up close. It was a interesting 3 days.
What brought all this up at this time is the WIND. It was bad today and is supposed to be bad tomorrow. I want to go to a opening of a lavendar farm tomorrow and it is about 1 and1/2 hour away in a place that is always more windy than here. Tomorrow we will decide, it is not too far from where Bud's sister is so we could see her also.
