Moon light July 31, 2010

Did you know that hings are supposed to grow bettet during the Full moon. Your hair grows faster, if you cut it then, the farmers plant according to the full moon. This is according to the Farmer's Alamac. Also by working in the hospital, especially if the full moon is on Friday, the ER is busier that night, weider things happen. BEWARE OF THE FULL MOON! (I think Aunt Velma would agree with that)
I hope your day went good and the girl got lots of sales. I think you are right that maybe training is your #1 talent. But it is all based on being a people person, You don't know a stranger, you are observant, you listen to them, you know where they are best without them telling you. That is where the good training comes in-------plus you work hard at getting the people to come to you to start with

Temptations July 30, 2010

I worked the desert table. After trying several cookies, I started to lose interest. Thank Goodness! This was a concert that we had at our church with Carrie Newcomer. She was good! She had a great voice! She wrote her own songs and from being from the mid west (small towns) I could relate. She wrote about so many things that I could relate to.
Her Monroe county fair, I could relate to. I had some other memories than she didn't mention. When we went to the fair, it was always after a day of picking cotton. We had picked enough cotton where we could buy some new clothes. I had new blue jeans, turned up once at the legs, and white buck shoes. I did feel good. We usually went to the Greene County Faire. I remember the lights of the carnival rides. I don't think that I got to ride any but it was still fun , just being there. Then I got to go to the Memphis faire with school. That was fun! We took the school bus there, lots of my friends there. We stayed all day. For some reason, this song always comes to my mind "Cookie, Lend me your comb" Of course coming home, we had to sing "99 bottles of beer on the wall" doesn't that seem odd coming from a dry county?

July 22, 2010 Garden Party

Part of the Indian ceremony for a garden blessing. Hands down was giving to the soil, Hands up , the soil giving back to us. It was a good ceremony. It was a good day.
The next day was bridge at my house and I was getting sick to my stomach. I thought it was the motrin but it lasted 2 days which motrin didn't last that long. Now I found out that the stomach flu was going around. I don't think any one got sick from being around me. I hope not. It sure is good to feel better.

Garden party is over and I am tired. It turned out good. This is half of our gardners. Great group!

Stargazing July 23, 2010

On the campus of the University, there are 5 of these ceramic heads. Robert Arneson was the artist of these. He was a art professor there. The eggs are huge. He finished them in 1991 and died in 1992 from cancer. I only got to see 2 of them. The campus is also huge and I started to look for them on the second day and my knee wasn't doing real good.

I am back. It was a good trip. I am tired, we did a lot of walking. I wore one of my chemo hats to keep the sun off. My knee was feeling the walk today. Somehow we lucked out on our room.. Somehow we got a 2 bedroom suite, the only drawback was the bed rooms were upstairs. Going up and down the steps was not the best for my knee but I don't think it hurt it too much.
I wish somehow you could transfer all the house cleaning that you have done to my house. Bridge is Monday night at my house.
I am trying to get the cooking done first. I made 2 batches of zucchini squares. One for the community garden open house on Sunday and one for bridge, and 3 dozen zucchini cookies for the garden open house. I am tired.

Church bunny July 20,2010

I worked in the community garden today and this is one of the bunnies around. But tomorrow I am going out of town for over night with my friend. Maybe I will see something other than animals. At least it will be a change. Then when I get back, I have to be serious about cleaning house. I have bridge here on Monday night. I finally have desert figured out. It is something that I can do ahead of time.
I rode the bicycle again today for 15 minutes and I think it really is helping my knee.
I have to finish packing, it is after midnight and we are leaving early in the morning.
