March 31, 2010 Walk it off

Another part of the nutrition class.
After a large meal, take a 10-20 minute stroll. Aside from the proven benefits to your heart, walking is the perfect gentle exercise for promoting digestion and encouraging cleansing of the lymphatic system. Walking helps move food along the digestive tract, improving digestion and absorption.

March30 Eating popcorn

I see you are still eating popcorn. Good weigh in! Today was nutrition class. It was really good. Healthy Detox after Overindulging. I will make you a copy. There is a lot in it and I am not sure you are interested in all. I will put a few things on the blog.
The Morning After
Start with apple cider
Apple cider vinegar is traditionally used to remedy digestive distress, support liver detoxification, normalize digestive juices, and reduce intestinal bloating. Mix 1 tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar with 12 ounces of warm water and drink in the morning on empty stomach. Can add a little honey or maple syrup. Lemon water will also help.
It is late again and I have to leave early in the morning.
Good night

Monday, March 29, 2010

On Mondays I usually work in the yard to fill up the green barrel. It was almost full when I ran into this creature. I thought it was still too cold for snakes to be out but I guess not. He was young, about 12 inches long. The hawks are out and they like snakes, rodents and baby birds. The hawks are nesting now. I guess you can call my garden the Garden of Eden. Now that I have my snake. I will be staying out of the areas that I think there could be snakes, stay more to the civilized parts of my yard.

Today was a good day. Nothing special. I am going to bed earlier tonight Here's a sunset from my Camping trip.

March 27, 2010 Easter

We had Easter 1 week early since Kindra had to be back in school at Monterey next week. Joey had to work. So hard to get everyone together at the same time when they get older. Robin, Kris and Marisa had to work today so we didn't get to eat until 7:00
Baby ducks make me think of Easter or they did before I got this picture which isn't very good. Mother duck thought our pool would be a good place for her babies to learn to swim. I thought differently. I finally got all 8 out, took them to the back fence, warned the mother about bringing them back. Within 5 minutes, all 8 were back in the pool. Now, they knew about water and they were stronger. It took me forever to get them out. Yes, they came back again and it even took me longer. In the meantime the hawks were circling. Old mom duck was too smart. They all hunkered down in the ivy next to the fence and the hawk couldn't get to them. The hawks have already started sitting in their nest this year and I have had to shoo Mom and Duck out of the pool couple of times. I wish I could find their nest.
Happy Easter to you!

March 26, 2010 A swinging day

If I had a swing I could swing!

Today has been a good day. My homework is turned in, the garden sign is up, we ordered kitchen cabinet refacing to be done, yesterday, the tree work to be thinned. The kitchen and trees are scheduled for May but things are scheduled! Taxes are done! My investment person is coming over tomorrow to help me figure out what to do with my (little) surprise retirement money. Good days to come!!

March25,2010 Studying

I feel like this today. I decided to turn in my geology report. I don't understand geology so I had to research it on the internet, write it up and I am sure the it is not what the teacher wants but she talked too fast for me to use my notes. I only have one more page to do so hopefully I can do it in the morning and turn it in tomorrow afternoon. I did get some good things in. I met with this most knowledgable man about community gardens. I think he in the long way around will be a big help. I went to artist way at church tonight, didn't do much, mainly relaxed.I met with the tree man about trimming our oak trees. We can only do one side. The hawks have already started sitting on their nest on the other side. We couldn't afford to get both sides done at once anyway.
