October 5, 2010 Sunrise over Mono Lake

5:30 both Mornings so we could get there a little earlier than sun rise and then we would stay until 8:00. Then back for breakfast . We had a good group of people-------all ages. Of course, I was the oldest! It is late again. Off to bed after my shower.

October 4, 2010 Our driver on my school camp trip

I got back from the school photography camping trip. It rained each night but just as we were going to bed. It also rained part of an afternoon. I learned some things about the digital camera that I never understood before and I saw the value of the tripod more. I enjoyed the people in the class, I had no trouble with my knees and the scenery was nice. The bad thing was, it was dirtier than most school trips and we were up at 5:30 in the morning for sunrise pictures. I was glad that I didn't mind getting up early. The sunrises were great. Today was our monthly tennis luncheon. There were 2 of us for September birthdays. I couldn't make it at the end of the month so we had it in October. The other birthday girl had it at her house. She has done some extensive remodeling and it looks real good and she has lots of room.
I need to brush my teeth and get to bed. It is already after midnight.

Days from the past October 1, 2010

A quick note before I leave for the weekend. Off to my photography class. The teacher said it wouldn't rain, just cold. Checking the weather, 30% chance of thunderstorms all 3 days. ugh-you know how I love thunderstorms. EXCEPT there is the 70% left. I guess it is like the glass being half full or half empty.
How are you doing? I will be glad when you get all your medical appointments finished. Norma seems to be doing ok.
I need to empty the dishwasher before I go. Talk to you after I get back.

outdoor potty September 30, 2010

This was in our camp site when we got there. I guess someone didn't like the squat method. I used the squat method. Deer hunters come up to this area and deer hunting season started the next week. It was nice to get away but not one of my favorite getaways. I leave again tomorrow and even though it will be tent camping, it will be so much nicer. It will be civilized area, bath rooms and prettier. Plus it is a photography class. So much to do in the 2 days in between.
I enjoyed my luncheon at my friend's new house. It is new and large. She had 24 or 25 there and since I haven't been playing tennis, I got to see lots of my old tennis friends that I haven't seen in a few months. So nice to have something like this in between 2 dirty camping trips.
I got up this morning about 5:00. I went on the computer to find a quinoa recipe for the trip. I am in one of the vegetarian food groups, then a person who is allergic to gluten which makes it even harder to find a recipe except quinoa is gluten free and a complete protein, I wanted to add some other things. I have so much on my computer, plus lots of email for the days that I was gone. While going through all this, I found this quote that I had saved.

I really hated to hear about your lump that you found but hopefully, it is just a calcium deposit and no problems to it. Keep me posted. Yes, with all your doctor's appointment, it sounds like Norma. But it is best to get all that done. So that is good. I didn't hear from Norma last night. I hope she didn't have to stay the night. I talked to my friend who had this done and she did o.k.
Your angel thing for my birthday was so nice. You know how to make a person feel so good, having a birthday was a highlight in my day.
That was a interesting article on carbs and calcium. We have been going over the best foods for the most calcium. I enjoy that list.
How has your ebay done?
This blog has probably been long enough to make up for the days that I was gone.

Shirt bag September 23, 2010

A real quick note, mainly a picture of the shirts. I sent you a few today. I haven't yet used it for groceries yet but it is a good idea.
I am getting up tomorrow at 4:30 am. It is going to be a short night and a long day.
You sound very busy but that is good! I hope you found what you were shopping for.

Spider Web September 2010

Spiderwebs can be so pretty, especially early in the morning. They look like mother's crocheting. I wonder if that is how they got their first crochet patterns. Most of them are very strong, especially if you try to take one down.
You are still losing weight. Congratulations! I am not losing but I am slowly getting down to where I was. You would think with fresh vegetables and fruit, you wouldn't have to worry about weight. But looking at all the good recipes, they all seem to have something fattening in them. I picked Granny Smith apples this morning. I plan to start peeling tonight and doing something with them. My garden lecture that I had set up with the Master Gardner turned out really good. She stayed forever, loves gardening and cooking. I got tired, just listening to all she did. The kids and her husband was also just as involved (like living on the little pararie)
I have someone coming over tonight to pick up her CDS of the pictures that I did. She also does snapfish, that made it so easy to put it on line and they could see the pictures instantly, order from there or use the CDs to do whatever and wherever they want. I am delivering the baby pictures of another customer in Auburn (the next town over) tomorrow then I won't have any jobs hanging over my head while I am camping. Except tomorrow afternoon, I am on the nominating commite for officers of Church. Such a small church and the majority is over 80 years old. It is going to be a job. There are 4 of us on the committe but I am the head of it.
Challenges make life interesting, so they say. Sometimes they are as complicated as a spider's web.

This is just a part of the beautiful place where I did pictures. I almost have them finished where I can put them on a CD. Then i have to find the phone number of the customer in Auburn and get that delivered, then I can enjoy my camping trip. I am ready to go somewhere. I don't know where I get my wunderlust. I am looking forward to my trip in November. I am glad Normadecided to join us. I know this isn't the best time for you. You have already showed us around, so you don't have to do that this this time. We will help you with your Avon sales and I know you will be busy.
